"I am going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life."
- Elsie de Wolfe
Tonya Hopkins is an Austin-based interior designer focusing on residential interior design services. Her design philosophy is centered on creating unique spaces that begin with the client's ideas and are enhanced by helping homeowners push outside of their normal design boundaries. She focuses on cultivating a collaborative relationship with her clients in order to establish trust and understand how to evolve the client's desires into optimal design solutions. She's always encouraging a bit of the unexpected in order to keep her interiors engaging.
Tonya began her professional career as a Supplier Quality Engineer after obtaining a B.S. of Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Eventually she could no longer deny her passion for interior design and desire for a career change and pursued a 2nd bachelor's degree, graduating from Texas State University with a B.S. in Interior Design. Since graduation, she has been a professional member of the Austin Chapter of the American Society of Interior Design. She began her training working for award winning, high-end residential design firm JEI Design and later RWM Design, who was recognized in Architectural Digest for Lance Armstrong's 8,000 square foot home in Austin, TX. Tonya also gained commercial design experience working for Jackson Galloway architectural firm and recently spent most of 2012 as Lead Designer for eight episodes of the hit HGTV show, Property Brothers.
Tonya finds her strengths in listening to her homeowner's desires, inspiring them to overcome their design fears, her attention to detail and devotion to perfection. She finds excitement in various design styles and does not consider herself to specialize in a specific style. Her specialty is in creating a space that represents her clients.
